Why is everyone assuming its based off the game, and not the actual war machines we all have out in the ocean right now? I mean, these guys are even ON a battleship, and people assume its from the game.

Liam Neeson is like the next Nicholas Cage. He’ll do god awful movies. Usually one a year.
I disagree. Nicholas Cage does a lot of bad movies, but he occasionally does some awesome ones. The common thread throughout his movies is that he is a terrible actor. Probably one of the worst ever. He changed his name so he wouldn’t appear to be riding on the coat tails of his uncle (Francis Ford Coppola) but everybody already knew who he was so that meant nothing.

Universal turned down Guillermo del Toro’s script for H. P. Lovecraft’s At the Mountains of Madness but approved this?
Why wouldn’t they approve of this? The Navy didn’t even get mentioned in the Battle for L.A. Besides how long has it been since the last Navy movie?
This movie would be so much better if they accidentally found R’lyeh instead of an alien ship.

I didn’t really see any tie-ins to the board game in that trailer, except maybe the “We’ve got nothing on radar!” line.
What about the closed-off space that the aliens create?
Or the similar positions of the opposing fleets?
Or the same number and type of ships?
I can’t wait to see this! Then, I want to be the first to buy the blu ray. Then, two months later, I want to be the first to buy the special edition with hilarious outtakes, and over five minutes of deleted scenes!!!

Liam Neeson is the only thing that can save this film
Liam does add a good atmosphere to the movie but this movie isn’t in need of saving. This movie will do just fine. On a side note though, Liam looks a bit young as a 4-star.

I won’t pay for that. I won’t even waste my bandwidth by downloading it. I like Liam Neeson but this movie seems to be just another blockbuster with too many explosions. It’s so cliché, I can even spoil whithout watching it : the aliens die, mankind is saved and the good guy screws the hot chick. That’s pathetic. And it cost millions of dollar.
I have a love-hate relationship with this movie.
