  1. AmazingWhale says:

Oh, no comments yet, I have to let everyone know that I’m first!

    • SplendorVendor says:

      CARL SAGAN WAS FIRST ;P

      • barzuk says:

…and wrong. Too expensive; physically improbable. What is it with radical humanists? “Me super-human! Me figger ever’-t’ing out wif Big Brain! Me save MESELF!!!” Oops. Here comes a big-ass asteroid, with your name on it. Ooooo, whattodo, whattoDOOOOOOOOOO? MOMMY!!!!!!!

Besides… that cartoon of Sagan makes him look, well… derpy, at least, wicked stoned, at worst. LMAO

        • SplendorVendor says:

You obviously haven’t heard that we live on a finite planet and that if we were to live beyond its life then we would NEED to venture into the stars to continue to survive… Its ok though, hate on thinkers and everyone that likes to care about things and call it uncool :P Just like everyone, minus me of course, on the interwebs.

Troll a library, bro. Or I guess I could just do the work for you and show you someone else saying the same thing but in video form:

        • mattbl says:

What now? We’ll definitely venture beyond this planet at some point. Unless of course, as the picture points out, we don’t manage to destroy ourselves first. Expensive and physically improbable? Maybe now, but when the population of the Earth gets the point where nobody can live comfortably we’ll be forced to look for other options. It’s already been shown that travel beyond the speed of light is at least theoretically possible. If we can achieve that, we’ll eventually find a planet that can support life elsewhere in the galaxy. If that ever happens, cost simply won’t be an issue as the human spirit will force us to explore.

          • Huwbutts says:

It would take millions of years to get to said stars, and chances are they’ll be dead by the time you get to them…

  2. jzimbert says:

    …and destroy them.

  3. Daniel says:

    Grammar Nazis… attack!

  4. Sword Fish says:

As soon as religion is abolished.

    • Aermas says:

      Dude, seriously?

    • Candlejack says:

      YES

    • darthgumby says:

Hey, religion was based on the concept that there was something beyond just what we could see an feel on earth. Without religion we would never have looked to the skies in wonder to begin with.

    • xenophilius says:

Nobody (but you) said that we can’t have religion if we travel in space. As far as I’m aware, a spaceship has plenty of room in its storage compartment for a Bible or a Torah or a Koran or whatever you please.

    • Mosh says:

You can’t abolish a person’s God-given right to believe in God. And religion isn’t holding us back from traveling outside of our solar system, the nothing that is out there is. Where would you go? To the planets outside our solar system that only exist in speculation and conjecture?

      • Spock says:

Retard, those planets don’t exist in speculation and conjecture, hundreds of extra-solar presents have been discovered. And freedom of religion, the freedom to be delusional and believe in fictional entities is a right that needs to be abolished. No-one has the right to religion, as it is harmful and detrimental.

  5. SilverStarNC says:

    Sword Fish is correct…

    Also, no grammar fail…

If you listen to that line(Y’know, from Carl Sagan.) He pauses between ‘will’ and ‘one’.

  6. alice says:

    Carl Sagan <3 :,)

  7. kaasman says:

Damn, if memebase is going this crap then I think I might just switch to 9GAG :l
I always liked memebase because it didn’t had all that crap that 9GAG does have….

  8. igmart says:

    Amen.

  9. AmEv says:

    SPAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAACCCCEEEE!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  10. BoerKaa says:

  11. Blake says:

    http://paranoidnews.org/2012/01/domsday-clock-one-minute-closer-to-midnight-one-minute-closer-to-destruction/

  14. timothy says:
