    • Wopple says:

What the hell is that even supposed to mean? Is it that you’re an idiot and think that he invented GUI-based operating systems or that you’re an idiot and don’t know how to compose a sentence, so I have no idea what you mean?

    • thursdaynext says:

I guess he invented the TV and radio too.

No, you’re right, and not a massive moron who can’t even string a sentence together.

      • Isaac says:

        You feel better now?

Sheesh people like you make his world a less happy world.

He might need grammar classes, but are a terrible person who can’t think before judging others. If you bothered to think before insulting him, you could have considered that English isn’t his native language. And he is probably more intelligent than you. Having good grammar doesn’t make you a more intelligent person.

        • thursdaynext says:

Having good grammar doesn’t mean you’re intelligent, I agree. However the poster in question is a moron.

Because we weren’t all banging sticks together before Apple came along.

  15. cox says:

    damn that was fast

  16. Anonymous says:

And…what difference does this make? Is Steve Jobs the innovator behind the technology? Is he the engineer who brings them to reality? He’s nothing, and Apple will continue doing whatever the they do regardless of his presence. Hell, they might even do better, since the whole world idolizes Steve Jobs and now that he’s dead, it’s just even stronger a rallying point for Apple fans. I wouldn’t be surprised if the iPhone 4S does better than expected thanks to this.

Marketer in life and marketer in death.

Dang, j-just, dang, and I saw this on my iTouch

    • jca says:

      It won’t affect anyone’s life, dipsh*t.

      • PootieTang says:

I think it affected Steve Jobs’ life in a pretty big way…

      • O Rly? says:

So Steve Jobs doesn’t have a family then? They won’t be affected by his passing? Nor will the lives of his friends, of the people in Apple and so forth?

It might not affect me, you or Jerret in any big way, but there’s going to be a number of people affected by his passing.

  37. Lolman says:

    Think!

    • Lilli says:

      Hell yes it is.

    • colonelpanic says:

      Yes. Yes it is.

    • kaiyotic says:

I have never even bought an apple product because they are overpriced for me. But even I would say that for a whole lot of people this world did improve thanks to Steve Jobs and apple.

Also as a marketing student myself I have to admit the man was a genius marketeer. He has and will influence all marketing students in the world.

  43. Thehealeroftru says:

    Apple stock might suffer.

  44. Voidflakes says:

The coffin wins everything. Forever. Even in death it still wins.

  45. Mike says:

The IDied just sounds a little distasteful and offensive. RIP Steve Jobs.

    • William says:

Offensive? Lock your door, shut off your phone, and unplug your router. The world is just a big bad scary place of meanies and we don’t want you to be offended anymore :(

      • Mike says:

Well sorry if I went too far. On a forum I’m part of, most of the members agreed with me.

        • Chell says:

so go frolic in the fields with your other little pixies but don’t go whining about a joke about a dead guy who you have no real ties with being offensive

    • thursdaynext says:

      That’s the point…

      Welcome to the internet?

  46. Old Nick says:

4S = for Steve? or am i reading too much into it?

  47. Pwny says:

    goddamnit.

I had a submission all planned out before I even got here.

and the voting page is filled entirely with jobs related posts.

  48. James B says:

So will the iPhone get Flash now or what?

  49. Granola Butt says:

I have always been a PC, but you can’t deny that the contributions he made to the computer industry were monumental. Computers and technology would not be what they are today without Mr. Jobs. And pancreatic cancer really is nasty, it killed my uncle in 2006. It really hit me that one of the most influential businessmen of our time went the same way. RIP Steve Jobs, you will be missed. Thank you for all you have done for us.

On a side note, I feel really bad for LMAO at the last photo (too soon?), but it was so damn funny to me… :P

  50. capt nitro says:

Well, it looks like Apple is… *puts on sunglasses*…Completely out of Jobs!!

  51. jon says:

Just heard 5 min ago! :( (((( but this made me lol

  52. edimus says:

man pancreatic cancer is nasty. no amount of money can even buy you any real amount of time let alone a cure. 56 is way too young

  53. Vladimir says:

Looks like Apple users can get viruses after all…

  54. mooj says:

    Too soon.

  55. jollol says:

    iLied

  56. Fakke says:

Woah, that’s sad. It’s also a strange feeling that I learn about this on memebase, and not on my news paper websites.

  57. Ghost of Jobs says:

Oh my GOD! Let’s go protest on like Wall Street or something!!!!

  58. Patrick says:

Rest In Peace Steve Jobs. I have enough respect for him to actually spell out “Rest In Peace” instead of just saying the letters “RIP”.

    • thursdaynext says:

      Have a cookie.

    • edimus says:

yeah you have enough respect to give him a fitting tribute on memebase.com, in the message board of a meme making fun of him dying. . . now thats classy

    • kaiyotic says:

yeah cause who knows if you write RIP what you might mean? just maybe you’d mean rest in pieces or whatever kind of sh*t like that. seriously every1 knows that RIP = Rest In Peace and both show an equal amount of respect towards the person that died.

    • itisme-me says:

So, having RIP on the top of the cross was disrespectful to Jesus? It’s an ancient as the hills acronym, not a “lol” type thing…And if you really want to be respectful, best you can do is say “my sincere condolences” directly to the Jobs family….by posting on memebase, you are showing no extra respect to Steve Jobs than the next person….

  59. Captain L says:

Glad to see that we’re honoring him for the most part. Even if you don’t like Apple, he died at 56 from cancer. That sucks.

This is to set the mood:
    !

  60. Tony says:

“Oh, heh, that’s clever… Steve Jobs dying? I’m not falling for that one.

    *checks wikipedia*

    …Oh, damn. Wow.”

  61. joeycaruzo says:

    This wasn’t funny…

  62. hearpa says:

    Dey tuk our Steve Jerbs!!!!

  63. Someone Else says:

I had never really read about steve but I think it’s weird that he died so shortly after leaving apple. Did they kill him so that he doesn’t work for another company? Or did he just leave to live off his last days peacefully?

i didn’t research a thing… how long had he been fighting his cancer?

either way, rest in peace. ipod, iphone and ipad surely were great leaps for technology.

  64. Flutterdash says:

Is it bad that I lol’d hard at the iDied? :l

  65. b says:

i always find out that someone died here on memebase

  66. RCC says:

I can’t believe that I found out about this on Memebase! I thought it was a joke, but it’s real.

It’s a sad reminder that all the money in the world can’t buy you health. :(
    Rest in Peace, Mr. Jobs.

    • Anonymous says:

He did buy health, he bought some kid’s kidneys so he could live a tad bit longer. Maybe if he wasn’t such a Jew with his money he’d buy another kid’s pancreas.

  67. Justin says:

    Very fast.

Why did he get pancreatic cancer anyway? All that radiation from working on hardware finally get to him?

    10/4s/11?

    4S = 4 Steve?

    Who knows.

All of those jokes were distasteful btw, but I still laughed D:

    • Jamie says:

Because the iPhone 4S came out instead of the iPhone 5.

    • 123 says:

4S = the fact that they released the iphone 4s instead of the iphone 5. so 10/05/11 is a troll, instead being 10/4s/11

    • The Amazing Rando says:

No no no no NO. You don’t get it.
They just announced the iPhone 4S…when everyone expected Apple to announce the iPhone 5. So he died on 10/5/11, but it’s a play on the iPhone announcement, so 10/5 becomes 10/4s.

      • Sammy says:

I don’t think he was asking THAT. That’s pretty obvious. I’m pretty sure he’s asking if it could be they named it the 4s instead of the iPhone 5 in honor of Steve, who had obviously been declining for a while… Kind of a last tribute on the company’s part, or something.

  68. TekkaCroe says:

I’ve never cared for Apple products, but this is still unfortunate news. Rest in peace, Mr. Jobs.

  69. NOTHING GOLD CAN STAY

    Nature’s first green is gold,
    Her hardest hue to hold.
    Her early leaf’s a flower;
    But only so an hour.
    Then leaf subsides to leaf.
    So Eden sank to grief,
So dawn goes down to day.
    Nothing gold can stay.

Rest in well-earned Peace Mr. Jobs.

  70. Dodge? says:

Am I a horrible person If I found these hilarious? RIP Steve Jobs, many people will miss you. No one deserves to die of cancer. I HOPE CANCER GETS CANCER AND DIES.

    • Justin says:

I have a pen pal in Germany named Cancer…

Not to mention to zodiac/constellation called Cancer…

      Douche.

  71. chaike says:

I’m a pc man, but I have to say, at least steve died knowing that he accomplished what many people dream of

  72. mike says:

I for one am glad hes dead. he can see those Chinese factory workers in hell!

  73. Hazzerd says:

got a meme for the people who found out he died when they looked at memebase ( ._.)

  74. rizzzzzzzz says:

    I agree, too soon IRL

  75. boner says:

    Too soon, insanity wolf.

  76. Ben says:

    Microsoft: 1
    Apple: 0

    Problem?

  77. Jozée says:

and once again Memebase becomes my news source…

  78. Sinistar says:

    I lol’d SO HARD!!!!

  79. lime says:

I think one week should be the general coutosey before we start making jokes.

  80. Anne Boleyn the Jokeress says:

For some reason, I believe that he’ll be reincarnated as the guy who invents the flying car.

  81. DingDongtheJobsisdead says:

Nope, it’s just Chuck Testa. SORRY, SOMEONE HAD TO DO IT.

  82. nava01 says:

    too soon man, too soon.

  83. S3PE says:

lawl, mac’s were only good for gaming anyways

  84. TheyCallMeTomu says:

Yeah, the Socially Awkward Penguin one is the best. I was thinking the exact same thing.

  85. Lulu Dammett says:

Sad (he was my mom’s age!), but not surprising, alas. Glad he got to accomplish what he did during his life.

Cancer sucks. At least he got to go surrounded by loved ones. Rest in peace.

And for the “Too Soon” care-trolls: if Jobs had the sense of humor like many cancer patients I know/knew have, he would have at least chuckled at “iDied”. Also, consider the source – this isn’t the Post.

  86. Quantum says:

    I prefer the diePod,
but we’ll still miss you, Steve.

  87. Asyoulostit says:

Dang >.< i feel like a s#it for laughing at all those Scumbag Jobs memes and all that..

  88. K-Fred says:

    Thank you, membase.

  89. Dylan R says:

    Funny, but too soon

  90. Vladimir says:

Looks like Apple users can get viruses after all…

  91. baggagins101 says:

    too soon

  92. Carlos says:

Looks like it was too much jobs for just one steve =/

  93. Mrs. Moose says:

Dude was a douche. ipod was really the only good apple product in the past 15 or so years and t isn’t even that great. Bill Gates is winning.

    angry replies in 3…2…1…GO!

    • Mrs. Moose says:

I speak the truth. I really don’t care that he is dead, he was a turd in a turtleneck. I also think it is hilarious that everyone talked crap about the iphone 4s not being the iphone 5 (is there really a difference?) and now all you idiots feel bad about it cause he is dead. Seriously, too soon? It wasn’t too soon to make fun of any other famous dead people. Why is it too soon to make fun of a dead guy that made all you apple fanboys spend all your money on his crappy products and never ending up-selling? Not to mention all the messed up stuff in his personal life…

  94. Alias says:

I feel like this was orchestrated…

    STEP 1: Create multibillion-dollar company
STEP 2: Retire after earning lots of money, while the market is still okay
STEP 3: Die?!?!?! Or fake death to live peacefully on a remote tropical island????

    CONSPIRACY? I think YES.

  95. arty says:

He be died. It was on Fox News. They’ve already got Chuck Testa on the phone.

  96. stiches6749 says:

I said BEFORE reading this “iDied” and my friends all gave me that “TOO soon you evil human being look”! I love that I’m not the only one

  97. ManbBroDude says:

Rest in Peace, all is forgiven when for when you voided my warranty

  99. Dr.Hax says:

unless you are uninformed, you know that he was terminal before he quit.

  100. steven says:

    don’t give a god damn!

  101. Max says:

he used an apple a day…. shouldn’t that keep the cancer away…owait

  102. Kcj says:

    Steve Jobs

  103. DMathieu says:

    too soon?

    yeah, too soon.

  104. Kcj says:

Steve Jobs, Y U NO ALIVE??!!!

  105. Little_Judas says:

    Can’t tell if too soon
or best tribute ever <— I think this one

  106. nelly says:

I hate to be the debbie downer, but this is too early… kinda inappropriate the guy died just a few hours ago :/

    • Jacey says:

I agree, even though his death doesn’t necessarily affect our regular lives, I think it’s pretty distasteful to joke about a specific person dying of pancreatic cancer merely a few hours after the event occurred. How would one of his family members feel about this type of ‘humor’ or posts? I know I would be sad if it were someone I was close to.

      • McFlaze says:

I don’t think its too soon. Who is right? Neither of us.
So don’t get your panties in a wad. Laugh or cry. Its each persons individual decision to decide whether or not these jokes are “distasteful”

      • itisme-me says:

On the “too soon” card, I would say that it depends on the type of person Steve Jobs was…From what I gather, he lived each day as if it was his last, enjoying life as much as he could…if that is the case, would he have liked that we are all sitting mourning into our teacups/coffees/beers/fruit juice etc… and not getting on with life? Memebase is a humor website, so it seems logical to me that they would do a funny “tribute” which is what these memes are….

        • Jacey says:

I didn’t say I was crying about it or anything. I actually said it doesn’t affect my life. It just seemed a little disrespectful (mainly just because of the timing) in my personal opinion. I guess one could see it as a tribute as well.

          • vitamin_k says:

normally i would agree that it is too soon. and i would still agree if i found one of these on my friend’s wall or something. but on a site like this, which exists for the sole purpose of making fun of pop culture, it’s never too soon.

if all you can think to say is something sarcastic, smarmy, or otherwise unsupportive, this is precisely where you should be making your thoughts known.

    • Lolzorz says:

      Too Zune…

  107. Problem? says:

He never created anything. He just stole ideas from everybody else and made them popular thru his horde of brainless fans.

  108. Lulz says:

    I really don’t care… I don’t even know the guy (personally, I mean).

  109. Andrew Loy says:

I hope his will was not saved as PDF

  110. Justice says:

    *Several months ago*

“Hey guys, did you hear? Osama Bin Laden is dead! They shot the jerk in his f’ing face!”

Failnetwork: “Uh mah Gawd, how dare you celebrate the death of a fellow human being, no matter what he’s done! Blah blah liberal talking point blah blah I’m better than you statement blah blah pretentious banter blah blah!”

    Today.

    “Hey, Steve Jobs died. :(

Failnetwork: “Ha ha, good! Now I can enjoy my Android with more passion! I hope he suffered!”

Yeah, some of you are mentally diseased. Sociopaths for sure.

    • Mr.Maniac says:

Hmm, your world (internet) vision is pretty diseased. You think some jerks who are talking about stuff represents the whole internet?
I am not agreeing with your argument here. Many people respected Steve Jobs, and I am sure not as many respected Bin Laden.

      • Justice says:

There were even a few Memebase comics about not celebrating Bin Laden’s death immediately after it happened. They got 4.5 stars in rating.

      • Hamster says:

At least 50% of the German speaking internet actually is like that today.
If you happen to speak German just go to a couple of news and computer sites and have a good cringe.

I might sound like a care-troll now. Sorry.

      • Justice says:

Besides, just read THESE comments. No further proof needed.

        • ragondicon says:

he died… dieing is a part of life. its called get over it.

also i read the comments and just as many are saying too soon as are saying its ok.

          your argument is flawed

          • Justice says:

Joking about his death, which was a long, painful, and awful struggle with pancreatic cancer is pretty disgusting. Last time I checked, other than making some very expensive products that a lot of people in the US didn’t want to buy, he never did anything that would harm anyone else, nor did he do anything to bring about his demise.

People joke about idiots like Ryan Dunn and Amy Winehouse because they caused their own deaths.

            Big difference. Huge difference.

            Still sick.

    • Justice says:

You went further in proving my point Chuck. Well done.

  111. asdqf says:

    the idied is hilarious!

  112. Crazy-dutchman says:

Feel like socialy akward penguin now ;S

  113. Grim64 says:

Looks like an Apple a day doesn’t keep the doctor away…

  114. Timmeh77 says:

As disrespectful as it may be, I don’t think it’s true. With the iPhone 5 supposed to be coming out, they switch to iPhone 4S, screw up big time, now they want a pity party. Meanwhile, alive and well Jobs is relaxing off the taxation grid.

  115. Zaaaaaaap says:

    RIP Steve Jobs :\

  116. haha says:

    haha…. iDied….lolololololol….

  117. trolol says:

    Steve jobs?
    Nooooope

  120. alexandra says:

    Mate, too soon.

  121. Emil Lynge says:

I don’t see the humor in Steve dying…
I know the internet is a harsh place, but i would appreciate if Memebase had the decency not to front page that crap.

  122. Heroesprotester says:

New Punchline incoming: “They took our joooooooooooooobs!!!1″

  123. nomegusta says:

They just announced his death and you gaylord Apple haters are still talking crap? I guess if I was you guys, I’d be mad too.

“Once you go Mac, you never go back.”

  124. toast says:

He died on my birthday D:

  125. YEAAAAHHHH says:

    So who gets Steve’s job?

  126. toast says:

He died on my birthday :(

  127. Emsarrev says:

  129. David! says:

“Some people have sent us letters, saying that iTunes is their favorite app on Windows, I think of it like giving someone in hell a glass of fresh ice-water”- Steve Jobs

  130. nobody says:

Not cool bro, too soon, waaay to soon!

    RIP Steve Jobs

  131. levi says:

    this is not funny !

  132. lauri says:

    awesome! made me LOL

  133. Gryph18 says:

When they bury him, it’ll most likely be in a stark white coffin. Next year, however, they’ll exhume him then rebury him in a black one.

    Naturally, this will cost extra.

RIP, sir. Done more with you life than I most likely ever will. I don’t like or personally make use of most of it…but still, accomplishments are accomplishments and there are plenty of others who appreciate them.

  134. Darth Failer says:

I didn´t even know he had a rare form of cancer so this news surprised me lot.

    R.I.P Steve Jobs

  135. That Guy says:

“… the world is immeasurably better because of Steve.”

Wow, I know you’re not supposed to speak ill of the dead but, that guy had one hell of an ego.

  136. Nulono says:

Has anypony tried holding down his Home and Sleep/Wake buttons at the same time?

  137. ZIM!!! says:

Has anyony tried holding down his Home and Sleep/Wake buttons at the same time?

  138. Grimmerie says:

“The world is immeasurably better” because of him? WTF? I can’t believe that. The world is not “immeasurably better” because some dude influenced people to buy the same product as long as the name was changed. The world is not “immeasurably better” because of some stupid touchscreen bricks.

Does anyone care about the other 20,000 people who died of cancer yesterday? No? Okay, cool, I’m sure they weren’t nearly as important as Jobs. That’s fine.

Oh btw, 35k people also died of starvation yesterday, and a further 3200 in car accidents, and a further 8000 of AIDS. Steve Jobs never donated a CENT to any sort of charity. Ever.

Let me reiterate: Steve Jobs never gave a cent to any worthy cause. Never helped feed the hungry. Never helped home the homeless. Never donated money to help cure a disease he was DYING from. How selfish.

    • adeh20 says:

      Not a fan then?

      • Grimmerie says:

Not even close. I don’t care much for Apple products, and I don’t care for the fact that, despite the massive amounts of money that are raked in by them, nothing goes back to help communities.

        • ella says:

How can you say that? You don’t personally know the guy so how exactly would you know whether or not he donated to charity? Not everything is made public you know. Some celebrities choose to donate money privately so as to not rub it all in the media. Some would prefer the joy of donating rather than the admiration of others.
And about the thousands of people who you say died- while it is true that no one is making extra efforts to honor these people, I don’t see anyone else publicly insulting something made in their honor. Have some respect. You may not agree, but I personally think Steve Jobs was an innovator.

        • Steve Reimer says:

I’m pretty sure that he was in business to make money, not to give it away. Its a cold thing to say but its a fact. Electronics companies are not the same as humanitarian non-profit organizations. Although “immeasurably better” might be an overstatement, he played a big part in bringing technology to the masses…seemingly enough to allow you and I both to post on a blog article. His achievements have allowed all of us to do many things. If you’re judging a person’s character solely based on charity, that’s pretty unfair. Just because he didn’t give incredible sums of money to charity doesn’t mean he didn’t make the world a better place.

  139. ca says:

    LOLOLOLOL. Less capitalists, good thing.

    • Bret says:

Don’t worry you commie reject, when us capitalists are all gone you can take from the fascist bureaucratic dictators and give to the poor. …o wait, no, they’ll just murder/torture/rape you for fun.

  140. iandra says:

A man has died who created something beyond what others have done. Whether he was a philanthropist or not, whether you use his company’s products or not, there is no need to disrespect this man in death. Have the compassion for him and his loved ones that you claim he didn’t have for others. No one can truly know a person’s heart this side of the veil.

  141. mikhael says:

all the steve jobs fanboyz r pissed

  142. gojo says:

Is there a rule somewhere I don’t know about that states you have to donate money if you become wealthy? His company created JOBS that should be enough. No one has to donate to any cause or charity to be considered a great man.

  143. Centaurus says:

Sad day? Kind of depressed? DUDE I PARTIED!!!!

Steve Jobs was the Hitler of the Computer Bizz and Bill Gates was America.

You wouldn’t want to live with either of them… but it’s a matter of the lesser of two evils.

Just a matter of time before all apple products are destroyed forever.

  144. iljg says:

    He died of pancreatic cancer.
    PC killed Steve Jobs!

    Cereal guy: *spffflllooooooooofffff*!!!!

  145. DyingBreed says:

This is beyond distasteful. The lack of a conscience on this site just has me at a loss.

  146. Draco says:

  147. PrincessNibiru says:

What if Apple changed the female voice in the 4S Siri to Steve Jobs voice… hmm ponder that. 4S=For Steve.

  148. Ol' Stobs says:

His flat series (with Ol’ Stobs’s super fantastic GUI) was a dramatic step forward for us/port-ability in telecommunications. His lifetime took desktops, brick phones and 12” records to a collection of touch screens with superior memory capacity that could fit in a small backpack. Steve certainly had the benefit of rapidly developing technology but we should nonetheless recognize his effort and honor his contributions. We’ll never know what Steve would’ve come up with after the flat series and we can only hope that the team he trained and left behind will be nearly as innovative. RIP Steve. My condolences to all who mourn his passing.
