In all honesty, on a serious note, (not being a troll -_-) I use IE and have never had one virus and my browser and connection are insanly fast. I use to use firefox, but i honestly can’t tell any difference. Can someone please explain to me what the difference is and actually base it off of facts, and not call me stupid when you too don’t know why it’s better, but you just follow everyone else.
Firefox is just more user friendly, imo.
IE was only good when Netscape still existed.

They are different. You know why? IE makes you write “used to” as “use to”, that’s why.
Well you see the stereotype isn’t entirely relevant anymore. With the newest versions of all browsers firefox uses a moderate amount of memory at about 100Mb. IE uses the least memory at about 85Mb and chrome clocks in at over 250Mb of memory.
This allows for a much faster page loading time in Chrome because it keeps all its components running at all times as opposed to IE who shuts certain components off when its not using them. Decreasing the overall memory usage but increasing page load times.
As for viruses IE is directly linked with Explorer.exe on windows computers. Explorer is what you use for browsing ALL of your files. So if I virus infects your IE browser then it can infect your entire computer.
I use Chrome because I run at 6gigs of RAM so memory useage is not an issue but people with lower RAM should be using Firefox and really no one should use IE it just has access to way too much of your computer to be completely “safe”.

Im just saying. This shows how much support each browser has for html5. Chrome scores 341 points. Firefox 313. Internet Exploder is down the list at 141. Epic fail. This means it has crappy support. Anyway, IE steals everything away. If in Chrome, u click and drag a tab away, it allows u to move it to another google chrome, or make a new one. They had that for ages, and SUDDENLY internet exploder has it too… Hurp durp, IE is only a remake of netscape anyway.

(you can test this, just open two browsers on the same computer and let them start loading a page at the same time, or get two equal machines)
The extensions on chrome are absolutely amazing. do you have ads on IE? i don’t have ads on Chrome, or FireFox.
Shortcuts, quick search, bookmark synchronization between computers, games, helper apps, and the list goes on.
one diff is IE records cookies and other non-useful info using more disk space than fire fox. usualy the diff is in the gigs

I just recently had to prove this same exact thing to friend. I opened task-manager, and looked at the CPU usage, as well as the RAM usage. I had no programs open, and they were both relatively low. I then started IE. There was a MASSIVE spike in both the RAM and CPU usage. At the highest point, the CPU usage reached 98%. Then I closed IE, waited a few moments, and started Firefox. The spike was significantly lower. All of this was done on a Windows 7 home SP1. With a 2.30 GHz processor, and 2.00 GB of RAM.

Am I the only one who uses Maxthon 3?
Sure, the memory usage is fairly high, but it is blazing fast (as far as I can tell, faster than chrome) and has a ton of useful features. I have nothing against other web broswers, excepting of course IE, but I just find Maxthon to be the best experience.
No! You are not! I love maxthon! I’m typing this while using maxthon. I just used Firefox in my example cause I figgured more people would relate to that. I use maxthon for all my browsing on Windows. But they don’t make a Linux version, so I use Firefox and Opera whenever I’m on my Linux computer.
