But I can understand why Gabe hates the pyro. It’s because his favorite class is the spy. EVERYTIME YOU SPY CHECK GABE PLANS TO NERF THE PYRO SOME MORE.
I love having pyros as my teammates. I’m a sniper, so it gets really irritating when you have to check your back every other second for a spy. Almost as irritating as a spy trying to kill you when he’s disguised as you. Honestly, dude, I totally don’t think you’re a spy when we have the same name and you’re hugging my back. :S

Sorry to bring this up, but the axtinguisher is not just for melee, you must first set your foe on fire, and the hit them with it, that is why we got the degreaser, so we can switch faster, that is why all the new pyro items are crap, because the degreaser is so awesome.

That’s still melee though. It’s just melee while they’re on fire.
That’s what Axtinguishing implies. Otherwise it’s pointless to use it because of the reduced melee damage on non-flaming enemies.
Since it got it’s airblast back: Backburner > Degreaser.
Backburner’s only better if you don’t use the Axtinguisher or the Degreaser+Powerjack+Attendant perks. Backburner’s also still pretty bad for airblasting, since it uses so much ammo.
