It’s all the more involving because he did some fantastic work, stuff that matters in the real world. But, nobody would recognise him. Like everybody uses Huffman codes, but nobody has any idea who he is. And yet Kurt Cobain and Jim Morrision are icons.
BTW: Google Goggles tells me this guy is Edsger Dijkstra. He did a lot of work in path-traversal, but nothing really about binary trees, but did a little work in binary heaps.
BTW – my computer science degree tells me that binary tress are used to implement binary heaps. :O
