The youtube video is mis-labled. There is a joke-piece that is called the Fairie’s Aire and Death Waltz, but this isn’t it.
That said, this is still pretty ridiculous.
I know, I did research on this and I came up with a piece that included stage directions like “tune the uke” and “release the penguins”. I figured the video must be incorrect.

While this is awesome, it is technically not a waltz. A waltz has a 3/4 time signature, this is 4/4. So it’s more of a Death MARCH.

Usually, but not always.
Traditional marches are written in any duple time signature. (eg. 4/4, 2/4, 2/2, and rarely 6/8).
This is not the Death Waltz… this is a piano version of “U.N. Owen was her?” from Touhou Project… but this is awesome anyway.

Yeah, the Faeries Aire and Death Waltz is very different…in fact, I think it’s just a joke.
It was meant as a joke, but someone DID make a MIDI of the real thing and I have it. If anyone can tell me what that program was I can upload the real thing (and you can verify the score is the correct one)

It needs to be scored for a piano in four hands or piano duet. The spread is too wide and number of notes exceeds the fingers available to a single player.

Reason why not many people play it is because if you do both Treble and Bass Clef up to tempo, your fingers fall off or become horribly deformed.

I find it amazing that the first video is a rather poorly arranged version of the original U.N. Owen Was Her. Chords on the chorus are WAY off on tonality. Amazingly well-made glissandos and such, but the chords are not well-made.

Anyone else notice that in the attempt video the pianist has slightly different coloured hands with very different movements and only one sleeve? Also he/she is clearly playing a much simpler score than in the previous video.

wow. you’d probably need to sprout a few extra hands or be the son of shiva to play that in real life. in some parts it sounds like a sound card repeating a section of wave/midi file over and over or like something jammed up.
The computer didn’t do very well either. I wasn’t hearing all of the notes from the complex chords. I believe the processor or sound card was underpowered or didn’t have enough channels to process all of the notes called for and dropped them. The output needs to be spooled to a file and played at real time.

Am I the ONLY one who notices that the left hand looks completely different than the right (and I’m not just saying ‘thumb on the other side’ different either)? The left hand looks entirely fake. It is either a chunk of plastic, or this guy is terrbily deformed.
It’s simply in a different pose and under different lighting. The bottom of the wrist is often obscured by shadow, and it’s held much flatter than the right hand for its portion of the song.
