Filipinos are not Asians, they’re more Polynesian. Hawaiians (sp?) are Polynesian as well. Some theories assert they were originally Mayan or some other Southern American tribe that went west from modern day Ecuador. That point aside, there is Spanish genetics in Filipinos as well.

First off, Asian is a geographical term that does not exclude Filipinos. Enough with that nonsense. You must have spoken to a Fil-Am who thought calling themself a “Pacific Islander” was cool.
The term you’re looking for is “Austronesian” which is originally a term to group a family language. However, Austronesian heritage can be found throughout SouthEast Asian. I think you’re trying to compare East Asians vs the rest, which Filipinos has a mix of both.
Even though Filipinos have some Spanish lineage, unless you have their DNA results you’re just speculating. Practically all of SouthEast Asia was colonized in their history, i.e. Vietnamese by the French, does that mean all of them have European genetics?

Some look like and some don’t. I look like a Korean/Japanese/Chinese and many people mistake me for one (even they do) but I’m full Filipino. Some of us look like Polynesian and some look like Chinese because some parts of northern Philippines have a lot of Chinese looking people and the south have the others. Mmm… No. This comic doesn’t have ANYTHING that fits the definition of racism, or misogyny. It doesn’t portray Asians as inferior (it states they are more beautiful until older age) and it portrays Asian woman as beautiful, but that menopause hits them hard. So… No. Not racist. Everyone in the US is turning into a bunch of church mice.
Mmm… yes. This comic would NEVER have been front paged if it was making fun of the aging process of any other minority group. If we’re going to be PC, we could at least be consistent about it. If we’re not going to be PC, we should be consistent about that too. Making some minority communities off-limits and others fair-game is where the absurdity comes from.
Nobody is making fun of anything and this is not called racism, it is stereotyping. If we have to treat everyone equally than Soviet Russia jokes should also be discarded as not politically correct. Then there are the Muslims, the homosexuals, the Americans, the fat people and finally jokes will be completely banned.
But what you seem to be asking for here is for whoever did this to go away and make the same LOL for all the different ethnic groups, which wouldn’t be funny at all but would be “consistent”.

I totally agree, to quote South Park “either everything is OK to make fun of, or nothing it”, but who has set a limit on which “stereotypes” are funny and which are offensive? It it was about the aging of north american, would it be racist? The author is not saying that this aging process makes asian women inferior.

You missed the point. Menopause does start around that age, but Asian women tend not to show the effects until much much later. Obaa-sans are also to be feared.. a small army of them could overtake the world.

I wouldn’t call this racist/sexist at all, at most it’s generalizing. Stereotypes can be positive too (all Asians are good at math is another one) and while unfair stereotypes can be objectionable there’s no harm in depicting something like this. It’s hard to imagine this stereotype demeaning Asians much in the public mind except giving them a reputation of having lots of MILFs.
It’s partially true anyway, a lot of Asian women do appear to age slower then other women from other parts of the world, but it’s mostly just from having the right genetics for that sort of thing.
TL;DR: People should really let go of those pearls they’re clutching and recognize it’s ok to laugh at things like this, if you still think these jokes are wrong how about actually showing it TO an Asian person and ask if it offends them?

I´m asian and I must say: like any other race around the world, u can find hot after-menopause womans or that cartoon gradma. Anyway, the pic is right at leas one half of the asians womans…
Nobody stopped to think about how much different the people of the newer generation look (and will look) compared to the older generation at similar ages. South Koreans for example are getting much taller and leaner compared to their fairly short parents in just one generation. This is basically due to the fact that these kids have more food. I’ve lived in Korea for a year now and I see many women who are probably in their 50′s who are still pretty attractive. Of course there are women who look like the above but I say on average there are more fit older women here than back home and I’m from southern California. As for bewbs.. thats a whole ‘nother story my friends. I miss nice bewbs.

I’m Asian and I don’t find this one bit offensive. In fact, I find this quality quite beneficial.
Also, who knows if this will remain true. With the younger generation of Asians having access to better nutrition, health and beauty products, we may end up looking young until our 80′s now. Praying for that actually.
