Also, Rise Against threw it in their song “Survivor Guilt”.

Inccorect. It was william shatner in the season finally of star trek.
“We have a motto that sums it all up – ‘all gave some; some gave all,’” said Howard Osterkamp of Dent, commander of Chapter 3620 and a Korean War veteran.

Doesn’t matter who said the quote first, it’s still stupid. If all gave some, then there is no one left to constitute the second some that purportedly gave all! Truly disgraceful.
Clearly, some of the some who gave all were part of the all who gave some. the some they gave became all, but that doesn’t mean they didn’t at some point give some. There are no rules that say a person has to either give all or some. In order to give all, one must first give some.
Yo dawg, heard you liked somes…
And alls too.
Incorrect, my good sir!
“Some” is a subset of “all.” If you gave all, then you gave at least some and then some. Therefore, all gave some and a portion of those who gave some went above and beyond and further gave all.
That is indeed the correct interpretation according to modern generally accepted set theory.

All gave some, “some” meaning “an unspecified amount that is more than zero.” For some of the people, the amount of “some” was “all.”
I always think of “some” as more than none but less than all, but you’re right.
0 < x < y
x=some
y=all
Explained.
You win the internet.
wrong, it’s
0 < x <= y
<= y?
So x is less than equal to y? That sounds a bit a little redundant.
I think he means ≤ which is less than OR equal to. Either way, he’s wrong.
“I gave Sally some of my lunch” ≠ “I gave Sally all of my lunch.”
“I gave Sally some of my lunch” < "I gave Sally all of my lunch."
As stated above, some is an ambiguous term referring to a fraction of an amount of something. All would be 100%. Some cannot equal all, I'll bet my internet on it.
Hand over that internet, you mathematically-challenged piglet bomb.
*troll face* xy divided by 0.
Cat logic fail.
No matter how impressive you make your vocabulary look, a person can give some, and at the same time give all. They not only gave some, they gave all.
I’ll take a glass of whatever the hell it is you’re drinking
This should be captioned on the little girl with a horse.
It’s kind of heartless to make fun of PTSD victims frankly.
That is the meme, sometimes they make the dramatic pose he strikes funny, sometimes, as in this case, they make it heartless.
I think he gave up ever losing his virginity. And girls in general.
That kid is fat.
I was listening to Exit Music by Radiohead when I read this, it made it 95% more epic.
This is why I love this Mozarella! A picture of a fat kid with a clarinet becomes a logic problem!
too soon, america?
the watchmen one was funnier
PTSD kid rules, he is my favorite to build on
all gave some= people served
some gave all=some of those people serving died.
end story
All gave some, some gave all, beg for what? I wanna know! Carry on, don’t mind me, all I gave was everything, and yet you ask me for more! Fought your fight, bought your lie, and in return I lost my life! What purpose does this serve! *air guitar*
No purpose…….This is war….
